New search tool on Android devices

Android users will no longer struggle to find that all important message that they sent on their smartphone thanks to Google’s new search tool that has been very accurately named ‘In Apps’.

The new feature can be found inside Google’s search app on Android devices and can be used to search through contacts, text messages, YouTube and Spotify.

In the very near future Google hope to also include the likes of Facebook Messenger, LinkedIn, Evernote, Glide, Todoist and Google Keep to the search feature.

Running the search can happen anywhere, anytime and it’s completely secure. The tech company said on their blog “Searching your personal results happens entirely on your phone, so you can search even when you’re not connected to WiFi or cellular data. Only you can see your personal results, and you can control what apps appear by going to Settings within the Google app.

The upcoming release of the LG V20 phone will be the first smartphone with a dedicated shortcut to the new Google In Apps feature. From this you will be able to search through apps you have downloaded and also the pre-installed LG apps.
