BBC produce an enormous amount of information each and every day onto various platforms. Topics ranging from the latest sport to how the stock markets are doing. Not all of this information is considered interesting by everyone and the BBC have done something to assist their readers in making a home for what they care about.
The broadcasting company have released an app for iOS and Android devices that they say “gathers together content in a personalised hub” making it easier for the user to find what they want, completely at a swipe or two of a finger.
Downloading the app is completely free from either iTunes or the Google Play Store. Once registered or signed in using your BBC ID you can start to customise the news feed to see the topics that suit you. There are more than 50 areas to choose from such as technology, sports, music. Even iPlayer and radio programmes can be added to your feed.
If you are one of the 7.2 million people who have already signed up for a BBC ID and edited your home page then you can transfer these settings across to the app.
Leaving your details with any website or phone app raises concerns for many people however it is worth noting that the BBC has promised not to sell the data it gathers and allows users to delete information held about them.
Have you downloaded the app? Let us know what you think in the comments below.
